FAQ

My dog has never been boarded, is that okay?

Yes, we service many first-time boarders and find that the pets that stay with us do very well as a new boarder and quickly adjust to the happy atmosphere.

With each visit to C. Avey Pets your pet will get excited as you turn into our driveway.

What do I need to bring?

Current vaccination records: We’ll need a copy of your pets’ Vaccination Certificate (up to date Bordetella vaccine required) or an emailed copy from your vet (bring them along or send them ahead via caveypets@hotmail.com).

Food; bring your pets food and treats labeled and measuring cup

Favorite toy, treats, or blanket is welcome. To maintain sanitary conditions, any blankets or toys must be in sanitary condition. We provide beds for sanitation purposes we ask that you do not bring your pet’s own bedding.

Will I get those items back?

We don’t recommend that you send anything sentimental because if the item becomes unsanitary or beyond repair, we will dispose of it. We cannot guarantee you will get it back and would not want you and your pet to be disappointed.

What if my pet needs to take medication during their stay?

We administer medications that are pre-dosed and will be easily taken in their food. Bring a pill pocket or something our staff can wrap it in (i.e. bread, cheese, or peanut butter).

My dog doesn’t like other dogs, is that ok?

Yes, Here at C. Avey Pets. We can provide private runs both indoor and outdoor for the dogs that need that. Otherwise, our indoor area has solid panel walls, and the outdoor areas are separated by chain-link fence between runs with a view of other dogs.

Safety for our staff is a top priority. If your pet is skittish while staying with us, we can provide Standard Daily Care. We will not try to provide additional services that require hands-on contact. Usually after a few days with us, they do warm up, and we can give additional requested services.

What vaccinations are needed to board at your pet resort?

We follow Ontario required vaccinations; Rabies and Distemper Bordetella, flea and tick is also required.
