ABOUT US

Claire along with her parents Jenilee and Kyle run C. Avey Pets, a small sized, friendly, family run dog resort.

In the summer of 2022, after learning about various dog breeds and sparking a passion for pups, young Claire Avey decided to start up her very own dog sitting business named “C. Avey Pet Sitting”.

At first, Claire occasionally took on the responsibility of pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors, but it didn’t take long for word to spread about Claire’s new business. Her time and dedication to her canine friends didn’t go unnoticed and her genuine love of dogs is what really shines. Claire’s excitement for meeting new dogs, learning their routines and teaching them tricks has created a big buzz with local dog owners. Claire says what makes her a great dog sitter is patience, planning, playing and positive energy. “What you give is what you get back. Your energy is so important in how the dogs react to you.”

When Claire isn’t at school or participating in her extracurricular activities, she spends all her free time tending to her furry friends. Claire says that staying on top of things is the key to her success. She stays organized by preparing her clients food the night before, keeps the dogs on a routine play, rest and feeding schedule, not to mention setting aside time for her own personal play sessions with her 4-legged clients.

This young entrepreneur with a heart of gold also has a passion for philanthropy and prioritizes giving back to the community. Claire continually raises money and donates her own profits to several local organizations including the Brant County SPCA. Claire also volunteers her time at a local retirement home by offering pet therapy with her own dogs.

This summer, Claire plans to expand her business even further by offering doggy daycare while she’s out of school. In the distant future, Claire dreams of breeding Saint Bernard's and Pekingese pups.
